-
Refrigerator · $437: Whirlpool, 36th Ave N
The ice maker had been dead for a long time. Its timer module shorted and took out the main control board. The ice maker and the board were replaced; the board took two days to arrive.

-
Refrigerator · $926: LG, 65th Ave S
Nothing cooling on either side. The compressor ran but built no pressure. It was replaced the next morning with a new filter drier, the system recharged and the control board reflashed.

Refrigerator · service call only: Kenmore built 2013
We told this owner not to repair. A refrigerant leak or blockage, two torn gaskets and a pulsing fan motor put the full repair at $600 to $800, about the price of a new unit. He paid the service call only.

What These St. Pete Jobs Show
The lessons our technicians took from these St. Petersburg repairs.
- A dead ice maker is still wired in
- On the Whirlpool on 36th Ave N the ice maker had been left for a long time. It shorted and took the main control board with it: $437 instead of an ice maker alone. Switch a dead ice maker off and call.
- Hard water reaches the water path
- Water valves, dispensers and ice makers pay for the hard water in most St. Pete homes without whole-house filtration. On Kingfish Dr SE the valve no longer closed and the ice maker froze over.
- Condition matters more than age
- We repair a sound older refrigerator gladly. When the full repair comes to about half the price of a comparable new unit we say so, as we did on the 2013 Kenmore, and the decision is yours.
- Lint is what kills dryer heat
- On Beach Dr SE lint destroyed the heating element and the thermostats. Clean the lint screen every load and have the vent cleared.
- Storms take control boards
- Outages, surges and lightning from July through September are hard on the boards in modern refrigerators, ranges and washers.

Appliance Repair in St. Petersburg: Questions We Get
How do I know an appliance needs repair?
Grinding, buzzing or rattling noises, an appliance that will not start or behaves inconsistently, water leaks, strange odors and heavy vibration are all signs. A refrigerator that is not cooling, a dryer that is not heating or a washer that is not draining should not wait.
What happens on a service call?
The technician inspects the appliance, finds the fault and explains it, and gives you a price before any work begins. After you approve it, the repair is done.
Which appliances do you repair in St. Petersburg?
Refrigerators, freezers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, microwaves, ice machines and wine coolers, gas and electric, residential and commercial.
Can you come the same day?
We book same-day and next-day visits when availability allows, from 8 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week. A part we have to order means a second visit.
Do you repair commercial appliances in St. Petersburg?
Yes: commercial-grade equipment in restaurants, offices, rental properties and other businesses, as well as household appliances.
What does appliance repair cost in St. Petersburg?
It depends on the appliance, the brand and model, and the part that has failed. You hear the figure before any work begins. The St. Petersburg jobs on this page cost from $295 to $926, parts and labor included: $295 for a dryer heating element and thermostats, $318 for washer suspension rods and shock absorbers, $322 for an ice maker and water valve, $386 for an oven control board, $437 for an ice maker and main control board and $926 for a refrigerator compressor. The service call is free with a repair and $79 if you decide against it.
Where is your St. Petersburg office, and how long is the warranty?
First Central Tower, 360 Central Ave, Suite 807, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Reach us on (727) 629-5076 or book online. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty on the parts we fit and the labor.
