- 1934, Middle Amana, Iowa
- George Foerstner founded the company in 1934 in Middle Amana, Iowa, and it began with commercial walk-in coolers.
- The Raytheon years
- Raytheon owned Amana from 1965 to 1997. The Radarange microwave reached home kitchens in 1967, after a commercial version in 1954.
- Goodman, then Maytag
- Goodman took over in 1997, and Maytag bought the brand in 2002.
- Whirlpool since 2006
- Whirlpool acquired Maytag in 2006, and Amana has been a Whirlpool Corporation brand ever since.
