What Goes Wrong in a Wine Cooler
- Temperature that drifts
- A cooler that runs warm or cold has a thermostat, a temperature sensor or a control board to check. On a dual-zone model each zone has its own control.
- The cooling system
- A compressor that does not run, or runs hot, leaves the cooler warm. On a thermoelectric model the cooling module and its fan take the compressor’s place.
- Frost
- Frost inside the cooler can come from the defrost system or from the door seal, so the evaporator coil and the gasket are the places to look.
- Noise and vibration
- A condenser fan, a motor or an internal part that has worked loose.
- Water
- Water inside or around the cooler is checked at the drain line and at the condensation path.
