      Description and Troubleshooting of Problems

      Door Lock Is Not Working

The door lock is the first thing to check when troubleshooting this issue. It sends a signal to the control board, allowing the dryer to start. This is a safety feature, and if the door lock isn’t working, the dryer won’t turn on. In most models, the door lock is installed inside the door frame. You can test it by pressing it—if you hear a click, it’s likely working, but that’s not always the case. To be sure, use a multimeter to check for continuity. If the circuit closes when the lock is pressed, it’s functioning properly. You should also inspect the door lock visually for any mechanical damage—check if it’s broken, pushed inward, or if the door isn’t making proper contact to engage the lock.

      Solution

If the door lock has fallen inside but is not damaged—just loose—you can check it and secure it back in place so it continues working. However, if it has mechanical damage or fails a continuity test (does not close the circuit), it needs to be replaced.

The Heating System Is Not Functioning

The heating system consists of the heating element, bracket thermostat, thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat, and dryer thermistor. These components work as a single system, and if one fails, the entire system stops functioning. In some cases, the dryer won’t start at all because this system is designed as a safety measure to prevent fires or other hazards. A common cause of failure is excessive dust and debris inside the dryer, which can build up on the thermostats or heating element. Another frequent issue is a clogged ventilation system, which restricts airflow. When airflow is blocked, the heating element overheats and burns out, leading to system failure.

      Solution

To fix this issue, it’s crucial to first identify the cause of the failure—otherwise, the problem might return even after replacing all the parts. Our technicians test each component individually, measuring its resistance to accurately diagnose the issue. When replacing parts, it’s best to change everything at once—don’t try to save money by skipping thermostats or the thermistor, as it’s not worth the risk. By replacing all heating system components together, you get a fully refreshed system, ensuring your dryer runs smoothly for a long time. During the repair, we also clean the inside of your dryer, lubricate the rollers, and make sure everything is in top condition—leaving you with a dryer that feels as good as new.

Belt or Idler Rollers Are Damaged

These two components work together. The idler rollers are responsible for tightening the belt, and they are often the cause of a damaged belt. Cracks, damage, or failure to rotate on the idler rollers can cause the belt to get damaged. If the belt is damaged, in most cases, the dryer will stop working and won’t start. Some dryer models don’t have a belt breakage sensor, so it might keep running, but you will notice that the motor is operating differently and the tub isn’t rotating. You can check this by opening the dryer door and trying to turn the drum. If it spins very easily, it’s most likely the belt.

      Solution

To fix this issue, the idler rollers kit and belt need to be replaced. During the replacement, our technicians clean the inside of your dryer, as the unit must be fully disassembled for the repair.
